Carter Benjamin Crutchfield

So Steph had her baby on Friday!! She had a little boy and his name is Carter Benjamin Crutchfield...and he is just precious. She was in labor for like 14 hours...yikes...i swear I'm not freaking out. hahaha! They have had SO SO SO many visitors..and I learned a lot from watching the people coming and going as she was in labor and after Carter was born. It was a bit overwhelming for me, so I can't really imagine how she and Corey felt.
As her day went on I updated her blog (http://www.stephaniecrutchfield.blogspot.com/) for her family and friends from near and far to see what was going on....it worked out really well :)
Steph, Corey, and Mr. Carter are doing awesome. I'm so very proud of my steph.

let the teenage years begin!!!

Miss Payton turned 13 December 4! (She was the last child, born in the last month...the 4th child born on the 4th day...) She started her evening with Miss Morgan @ North Central Boys Basketball practice. Dad won daddy of the year award for letting the girls see a nice little "shirts and skins" scrimmage :) It was funny. She thought it was awesome. After that Mom and I met Dad, Payton and Morgan at Sapparos (I think thats how you spell it) the Japanese restaurant where they cook the food in front of you! We also brought Paytons friend Jordan. It was a really nice time.

Here are a few pictures of Miss Payton...so grown up!

9 weeks to go....really?!

Hello there! Just wanted to update everyone on the big man. I went to the Dr today and things went ok. I am 31 weeks tomorrow...and measuring at 35 weeks. Yeah....big man. I lost 4 lbs. They are going to keep an eye on that b/c we dont want me losing weight and the baby getting it all..and having a 12 lb baby. ha! (kinda, laughing....scary laughing) I also had to ask about the way the baby is lying. He is not up and down...as far as I could tell, and she basically confirmed that. He is still laying side to side, curled up..she told me where she thought his head/back/butt /legs are, so that was fun. I just didnt know if it was normal for him to NOT be kicking my ribs right now....I have no idea what I'm doing here, so if you are laughing or thinking I'm silly, stop! :) She said I dont have to worry about him being up and down until 35-36 weeks. His heartbeat was 146 bpm, the nurse said he sounded great.
I also got instructions on what to do if I go into labor..who to call, where to go and all that jazz. so that was fun!

On Monday evening Zach and I went to tour the Maternity Ward @ the hospital (I will be delivering @ Community North) It was neat/nerve wrecking (tooooo the max!) It is so beautiful there, it looks like a hotel, for real. You stay in the same room through everything, which is super nice (unless you have a c-section). There is a little "Dads Den" in the room as well that has a couch that serves as a twin sized bed, with a Flat Screen TV, with DVD player and VHS, microwave and mini fridge. . .its insane! Assuming everything is ok, the baby stays in the room with us at all times, unless we request otherwise. The tour guide lady said that sometimes mothers request the babys stay in the nursery the first night so they can try to sleep....we will see about that. Zach is at this excited point, and I am nervous as hell...about labor. Zach has been asking me all of these questions about what I want and need during labor, and what is he supposed to do...its funny, but I am very appreciative that he is even asking these questions!! He has 2 specific rules, which I will spare you all of what those are, otherwise I told him to kind of just go with the flow with me. I have apologized to him already ahead of time, if I yell at him, that I dont mean it. hahaha! So thats that.....we are going to be Mommy and Daddy to a "big little man" in 9 weeks...give or take. ((this is me freaking the hell out))
We've talked a lot about our visitor situation...with both of us having large families, and lots of friends. I've talked to a few family members and friends who have had babies and asked what they thought too. We decided that immediately following baby, we don't mind our immediate family, parents and siblings, but to wait an hour or 2 and come back down to reality before seeing everyone else. I figure everyone has the rest of their lives to see the baby....they can wait. :)

This week the baby is 3 to 3.5lbs and if stretched out he is about 17 inches long! He will gain half a pound each week until he is born, which I think is insane. His lungs are still developing and aren't fully developed until 36 weeks, but are expanding and conducting "practice breathing." So thats always fun! The other night Zach put his hand on my stomach for a good 15 or 20 minutes and this little boy NEVER MOVED ONCE. I was so frustrated!!! I just want Zach to feel him move, but he just won't! Hopefully he will put on a show for his daddyo, before he comes out!

On another baby note:
Stephanie should be having Carter or Brooklyn ANYTIME now!!! (Her actual due date is Sunday) She is at home with contractions anywhere from 15 to 8 minutes apart. She's been eating spicy food, drinking some tea, and walking all over the place trying to speed things up. She has FINALLY stopped working after I yelled at her about it! She was going to make me crazy as stubborn as she was being about the work thing (yes stephanie, i am talking about you). I can't wait to see what this little tyke looks like!! He/She will be the 1st of the 5 babys born to our "group" of friends..we are all super excited. I will keep everyone updated on Steph!!!

Go Bears

Recently my Grandpa Petty (Moms Dad) was honored at a Basketball game @ Lawrence Central. They tore down the "round gym" and built a new one, for some reason...and they also honored a few of the great coaches that have coached at the school. So a big part of the family went to cheer on Grandpa!! It was not that long ago that Grandpa had a Quadruple bypass, and to see him walking across the gym floor was great! :)

Gobble.Gobble.

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! It was so low key this year. And I cooked for the first time!! whooo. I felt like a big girl..but it made me nervous! I was given the task of making the green beans...and its hard to live up to Aunt Tootsie and Grandmas green beans!! Everyone said they were good, but I dont think they were nearly as good as theirs!!

Thanksgiving was at my Mom and Dads this year. Grandma moved out of the country in May, so the only logical place to have the holidays now is at my parents...it was sooo different. I was kind of sad because most of the family left soon after we ate...it was just not what we are used to. But it was still nice to see everyone. I love family time.

My moms family came over later for dessert. The kids played Wii..me, Morgan and Adam played some Canasta. (a fun card game) Morgan and I spent a large part of the evening on the couch...haha. It was a lazy day. Here are a few pictures...and I'm going to TRY to upload this video of Jamasen boxing on the Wii...he is 3. . .and the cutest thing EVER.

2 down....1 to go.

I can't believe I am already in my 3rd Trimester....so insane. We only have 11 or so weeks left before we meet the little man. Thats so insane to me!!
I went to the Doctor yesterday and met with the actual Doctor. She is really nice..and soooo detailed. I felt like if I wanted to ask her 3 million questions she would have answered every single one, no matter how long she was in the room with me. So I liked that. I had only actually met with her one other time, the day I found out the sex...and things were really crazy that day! I was happy. My blood pressure was still high..but lower than it has been, so thats good, we are going to keep watching it. She was detailed about all of my blood work, and said whatever I am doing, keep doing it, b/c things are looking good with that...and I've been feeling a little better. I really had to make some changes to my diet. . .eat more....and more protein and a lot more rest. I still have moments where I feel like I want to passout..or puke everywhere...but they are getting farther apart...so thats good.
Photobucket
I have only gained 1lb!!! only ONE! :) whoooo! 11 more weeks...hopefully I am not like one of those horror stories and gain like 50lbs. Jeeeeez...that would be an absolute disaster!
This little man IS however causing me LARGE amounts of pain. . .sciatica. . .no fun! So I told my Doctor, hoping that she could possibly give me something to make the pain go away other than the tylenol i hate (see a few posts down)...and she suggested a SUPPORT BELT. I mean seriously?! I am 25 years old...I thought support belts were for....well lets just say OLDER people. hahaha. I am defintely going to try one though..she said that when you lift the baby, he will tend to move off my nerve. It is so incredibly painful just to get up and walk, and when I've been sitting or lying down for a while..you can forget it. It takes me like 20-30 seconds to actually start walking normal. I waddle. Its gross.
I think thats all I have for now....I hope all is well.

Big Bads Birthday

Amanda (whom I often refer to as Big Bad Bradshaw..her last name is Bradshaw...since high school) turned 26 last week...so we had a little get together at the old "watering hole," Britton Tavern. Z and I go there sometimes for dinner, but I haven't been there on a Friday or Saturday night in MONTHS. I love that place...love the girls that work there...love it all. So here are a few pictures of the night. Probably won't be seeing that place on a Friday or Saturday night for months and months.......

lots of blogging today!!

Lots of blogging today!!! First I will start off with......

Just a few highlights of the last 27ish weeks of my life........

**The women I have talked to, were NOT kidding when they said "this" is no longer my body. I have no control over anything anymore....peeing, hunger, sleepytime-or sleeplessness, aches, pains, hormonal rages, tears...lots and lots of unnecessary tears......etc

**It is amazing how something that supposedly weighs a bit over 2lbs can make my body feel like it has been hit by a train. I have never felt such pain/aches...ever.

**I thank God that I haven't gained the weight that most women have gained at this point. I orginally lost 8lbs at the beginning of my pregnancy, and I have gained all of those back, but not one lb. more. I feel like a beached whale, but tis life right?!

**I feel like my face is so fat I can't even stand it.....good thing I cant put my face on a scale....I feel like it weighs 100lbs by itself.

**Stretchmarks. . .from the devil. They are so terrible....they make me angry. so so angry.

**To feel something kick you from the inside, is the most incredible feeling in the world. I cannot wait to see the face that plays my bladder as though it is his drum set.

**I love feeling him get the hiccups.

**Zach has told sooo many people the name we finally decided on. I yell at him about it all the time, but I am pretty close to telling......so sit tight!! I really wanted it to be special..and maybe I will still keep it that way...but its getting annoying calling him "little man...big man...whatever"

**I LOATHE waking up every 2 to 3 hours to pee during the night....it makes me sooooooooooo mad.

**I love to watch Baby Story, Birthday and all of the other baby shows on Discovery Health, and TLC. But sometimes it makes my paranoias even worse!

**I hate Tylenol (see later post), its stupid and pointless.

**I wish I knew which body parts were punching me...kicking me....head butting me...

**I am so bummed Zach hasn't felt the baby move yet. Everytime we try, the baby just stops!!! And zach says..."He knows he shouldn't kick his dad...thats why he stopped" I'm like....riiiiiiight. ::smiles::

**Everyday I remind myself how lucky I am that my family and friends are so supportive, and that Zach is more excited than I am! :)

only 12ish weeks left. That is just unbelievable. And I have so much to do.....my o my.

xoxo
